The Japanese destroyer Samidare and the Izumo helicopter carrier docked at Cam Ranh International Port in Khanh Hoa Province on June 20, starting their visit to Vietnam on June 20-23.

The vessels’ visit to Vietnam is one of the activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan (September 21, 1973 - 2023), highlighting defense relations between the two countries, boosting exchange, mutual understanding and bilateral defense cooperation relationship in particular and cooperation in general between Vietnam and Japan.
