Provincial roads 1A and 1B to be upgraded

Van Phong Economic Zone Management Board is accelerating procedures for the investment in upgrading provincial roads 1A and 1B, Ninh Hoa Town. The work is expected to start at the end of this year and finish in 2026.

The roads have gone through regular repair and maintenance. However, due to a large volume of vehicles, the routes need upgrading. Especially, the road investment contributes to improving main routes, basically meeting the needs for the development of Van Phong Economic Zone to satisfy infrastructures of some large projects to the south of the economic area connected to the National Road 1, according to Nguyen Van Dan, Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Transportation.

Provincial road 1B will be upgraded at the end of this year.

The two roads mentioned above are in the main route axis in the master planning of Van Phong Economic Zone and the provincial traffic planning. Therefore, the investment in upgrading  the provincial roads 1A and 1B intersecting the provincial road to the national road 26B is urgently essential, creating a breakthrough towards complete traffic connection in the Southern Van Phong Area.

In July 2021, Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Council issued a decree to upgrade provincial roads 1A and 1B.

The project is designed to connect traffic, facilitate traffic in the wards of Ninh Hai, Ninh Diem, Ninh Thuy, promote the socio-economic growth in Southern Van Phong Economic Zone. This is the construction, grade II, with a total length of 7km and width of 26m. The project has a total capital of more than VND817 billion, including VND400 billion from the State budget and the rest from the provincial funding. The implementation period is from 2023 to 2026.

According to Hoang Van Khanh, Director of Management Board of Economic and Industrial Zone Infrastructure project (the management board of Van Phong Economic Zone) said, the board is completing investment procedures. The management board has held a meeting in the project area for the propaganda to meet the land handover schedule. The project is valued at VND300 billion.

To facilitate the project implementation, the board will closely cooperate with local authorities in Ninh Hoa Town in site clearance and compensation. The road upgrading is scheduled to begin at the end of this year and finish in 2026. The implementation period will be shortened if the site clearance goes smoothly.
