Spreading message of aspiration for development

Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Culture and Sports organized an exhibition of propaganda paintings at Phu Dong Park (Nha Trang City) on June 2-6 to celebrate the 370th anniversary of Khanh Hoa Province’s construction and development and Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa Sea Festival 2023.

The awarding ceremony of the contest on propaganda paintings and the exhibition were parts of the series of activities of Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa Sea Festival 2023. It has been a long time since Khanh Hoa held a nationwide contest on propaganda paintings. After four months of launching, the contest’s organization committee received more than 100 entries of painters across the country. According to Van Dinh An, director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Center of Culture and Cinema, the entries presented the typical features of propaganda paintings and followed the themes of the contest. The paintings revolved around the themes namely revolutionary morality and merits of Uncle Ho for the national revolutionary cause; achievements that Khanh Hoa Province and its people have achieved in recent years; national sovereignty over sea and islands; potential and strengths of Khanh Hoa; cultural characteristics of ethnic minorities in the province; marine environment protection, etc.

The organizers had awarded 17 prizes to excellent works of painters, who were from different localities in the country such as Hai Duong Province, Quang Binh Province, Ho Chi Minh City, Phu Yen Province, Dong Nai Province, and Khanh Hoa Province.

The exhibition displayed 70 propaganda paintings, which had been selected from the contest or provided by the Grassroots Culture Department (the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism). The exhibits conveyed the message about the determination of Khanh Hoa and its people to build and develop the province; preserve and promote the nation’s cultural values; join hands in building and developing marine economy and protecting marine environment. The slogans on the paintings also helped to increase propaganda effect.

 As said by Dang Quoc Van, deputy director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Culture and Sports, this activity aimed to promote the values of propaganda paintings in the new situation. These propaganda paintings will be introduced at the future events and exhibitions of the province in order to spread the propaganda message more widely to the public.
