Strengthening workplace fire safety

Khanh Hoa Provincial Public Security’s Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Department has strengthened fire prevention and control propaganda, supported enterprises to improve infrastructures, proactively deployed preventive measures, arranged forces and means to improve preparedness for potential fire-related emergencies.

According to the leader of the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Department, in recent times, fire prevention at enterprises in the province has much improved. Accordingly, at Suoi Dau Industrial Park, Cam Lam District, enterprises have coordinated well with functional units to strictly ensure fire prevention and control measures.

The leader of the Provincial Public Security’s Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Department awards certificates to 3 outstanding enterprises in the 2024 National Fire Prevention and Fighting Campaign at Suoi Dau Industrial Park.

Enterprises have participated in fire prevention and control propaganda and training. The Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Department has coordinated with agencies in the industrial park to organize propaganda, provide guidance and support enterprises to improve infrastructures, comply with fire safety regulations; organize fire fighting drills in Suoi Dau Industrial Park to improve fire safety and preparedness. 

Recently, the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Department opened a dialogue on workplace fire safety with enterprises and production facilities in Suoi Dau Industrial Park to inform of Resolution No. 02 of the Council of Judges of the Supreme People's Court, instructions on the application of some provisions in Article 313 of the Penal Code on the violation of fire safety regulations; instructions on fire escape skills and the use of equipment in prevention and rescue. The leaders of the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Department listened to opinions and considered recommendations to improve fire safety conditions at enterprises.

At the dialogues, the leaders of the enterprises affirmed that with the support of the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Department, fire prevention and control at the enterprises have been significantly improved, meeting the provisions of the law, ensuring safety in production and business.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Ho Chi Thanh, Deputy Head of the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Department, compliance with fire prevention and rescue regulations is both a responsibility and an essential duty to ensure a safe environment for production and business.

In the coming time, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police force will continue to support enterprises in implementing fire prevention and rescue tasks according to the provisions of law; direct professional units and local police to provide specific instructions for enterprises to perform fire prevention and rescue well, creating a favorable environment for the development of enterprises.

In October 2024, the Fire Prevention and Fighting Police Department jointly conducted periodic fire prevention and fighting safety inspections at more than 1,400 facilities; thematic inspections at markets and shopping malls; provided fire prevention and control guidance; and fire safety inspections at venues for conferences and other events; provided consultancy for the Provincial People's Committee to issue decisions on administrative fines with a total amount of more than VND627 million in the field of fire prevention and fighting against 23 organizations, etc.

The Department has organized training and granted professional training certificates to 3,578 members of grassroots fire prevention and fighting teams; and coordinated with Van Ninh District Police and Cam Lam District Police to organize fire prevention, control, search and rescue training for 648 members of grassroots fire prevention and fighting teams.
