Tran Hoai An (aged 8, Ninh Quang Commune, Ninh Hoa Town, Khanh Hoa) has to endure pain of incurable lung cancer. His life now depends on medical oxygen cylinders; however, his family has run out of money.

Reportedly, Tran Van Khoa, An’s father, and his wife left their hometown to work in Vung Tau City. One year ago, their son was diagnosed to have lung cancer. Khoa and his wife had to stop working in order to care for his son for eight months in Nhi Dong 2 Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City. Last August, they had to bring An home because his disease is incurable. In the first days at home, An needed seven oxygen cylinders (VND140,000 each) to help him breathe. Up to now, the total treatment cost is nearly VND200 million but An’s health condition has got worse. An and his parents are homeless because of the treatment cost; therefore, they have to live in An’s maternal grandfather’s house which was also mortgaged in order to buy oxygen cylinders to prolong An’s life. However, the mortgage is negligible. An often endures the pain of his lung cancer; however, his family cannot afford to buy analgesic drugs.

According to Nguyen Thuy Lan, mother of An, “Trai Tim Tu Bi” Charitable Group and Huyen (Quoc Te Hotel, Nha Trang) have recently given her family more than VND6 million and VND5 million respectively to buy oxygen cylinders for An.

An and his family is facing many difficulties. They wish to receive the help from the readers and sponsors everywhere to help An prolong his life. All the supports can be sent to Tran Van Khoa (0937 085 048) or the charity box of Khanh Hoa Newspaper office at 77 Yersin St., Nha Trang City.
