A drawing contest under the theme “Khanh Hoa in my eyes” was held at the beach park near the 2-4 Square (Nha Trang) from May 11 to 13. The contest created an interesting and useful playground for the children during the Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa Sea Festival 2019 to show their drawing skills and express their future hopes for the motherland.
The contest drew the participation of more than 500 children from 6 to 14 years old across Khanh Hoa. On A3-sized papers and with diverse drawing materials and tools (pencil, was crayon, watercolor, pastel, oil paint, palm-leaf conical hat, sails, marks, etc.), children depicted a range of subjects including Khanh Hoa people, Khanh Hoa’s landscape, and their hopes for the future, and so on. In her painting, Le Dieu Huyen, 8 years old from Ninh Hoa District Children’s House, expressed her wish about the development of tourism in her homeland. The love and admiration for the soldiers on the Spratly Islands were represented in the painting of Nguyen The Sang from Cam Ranh City. Other children depicted the activities of the fishermen and ocean clean-up and protection activities.
Over 500 paintings were drawn in three days of the contest. Many locals and tourists came to see the contest. A parent of a contester highly appreciated this drawing contest and said that it would help to arouse and enhance the love for homeland of children.
Apart from the paintings which were drawn right at the contest, there were 182 paintings on A0- and A3-sized papers of other children who could not be present at the contest. The paintings were displayed along the beach park.
