Nearly 50 Khanh Hoa artisans join Raglai ethnic cultural festival in Ninh Thuan

The cultural festival of Raglai ethnic and Ninh Thuan Province took place from August 29 to 31 in the mountainous district Bac Ai, Ninh Thuan Province. Attending the festival were nearly 500 artisans from Ninh Thuan Province, Binh Thuan Province, Lam Dong Province, and Khanh Hoa Province. The Khanh Hoa group had almost 50 officers and artisans from 2 districts Khanh Vinh and Cam Ranh.

The festival included various activities such as the traditional Raglai costume performance and the exhibition of over 200 photos and Raglai cultural objects. 
 
The exhibition introduced to the public the Raglai traditional jewellery, objects used in worshipping ceremony, tool kits used in production, hunting, and daily life and especially Raglai home-made kinds of musical instrument such as Talakung flute, the Chapi, lithophone, “ken moi”, “dan moi”, “ken bau Sarakel”, and “ken Gadet”.

 

 

In addition, there were many other cultural and sports activities such as shooting crossbow, walking on stilts, hessian jumping, manipulating traditional musical instruments, and raising and decorating Raglai traditional stilt house. 
 
Along with those activities, a talk on Raglai culture – preservation and development and a Raglai night art festival also took place in the event. 
 
According to Mr. Huynh Ngoc Chau, Director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Culture Center, the Khanh Hoa artist team participated in most of festival activities in the spirit of cultural exchange, aiming to enhance the solidarity among Raglai community as well as other ethnic communities.
