Vietnam to take part in Southeast Asian contemporary art festival

A contemporary visual art festival titled "Concept context contestation: Art and the collective in Southeast Asia", lasting until early March 2014, will be held at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre in Thailand in order to celebrate the upcoming ASEAN Community in 2015.

A contemporary visual art festival titled “Concept context contestation: Art and the collective in Southeast Asia”, lasting till early March 2014, will be held at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre in Thailand in order to celebrate the upcoming ASEAN Community in 2015.
 
The Vietnamese artists who will join this festival are Bui Cong Khanh, Nguyen Van Cuong, Phan Thao Nguyen and Tung Mai. Especially, the work of the late artist Vu Dan Tan will also be showcased at the festival.
 
Over 40 famous artists of three generations from eight countries will bring around 50 art works to the festival. Those art works of the artists from Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Myanmar and Cambodia will cover one of the most important subjects of the regional contemporary art originated from the conceptual thoughts and used for the collective ideas and the Southeast Asian contemporary art for the past four decades.
