Numerous cultural activities to welcome spring

The cultural week "Celebrating Communist Party – Welcoming Spring 2014" is considered as a colorful garden with numerous activities such as exhibitions, music shows and film screenings. The Vietnam's features of traditional culture will be shown through bai choi festival, unicorn – lion – dragon dances, calligraphy shows, etc.

According to Khanh Hoa Provincial Culture, Sports and Department, the plentiful and diversified activities of the cultural week, lasting from January 23rd to February 2nd, focuses on two main contents: exhibition and arts show. 
 
Abundant exhibitions
 
The Khanh Hoa Provincial Museum has opened the exhibition “Culture of Vietnamese ethnic groups” since January 23rd. The images of some traditional ceremonies of Vietnamese ethnic people, daily implements and traditional musical instruments provide audiences the knowledge about culture of the ethnic minorities  who live in highlands of Khanh Hoa Province and Lam Dong Province.

On this occasion, the Provincial Museum will also associate with Khanh Hoa Association of Ornamental Creatures to display ornamental plants and stones, etc.; combine with Khanh Hoa antiquity lovers club to exhibit the personal collections of antiquities.
 
The Provincial Cultural Center will hold some exhibitions, including photo exhibition about the beauty of Khanh Hoa at the beach park (opposite Novotel Nha Trang Hotel), calligraphy and ornamental stones exhibition at the center’s displaying room at No.5, 2-4 Street, Nha Trang City.
 
The ornamental creature festival 2014 takes place at Yen Phi Park from January 23rd to February 4th. In addition, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Monument Conservation Center will display Cham potteries, Lu Cat potteries and sand paintings at Ponagar Temple.
 
The Spring Newspaper Festival 2014, co-organized by the Khanh Hoa Provincial Museum, the Provincial Journalist Association and the Provincial Department of Information and Communication opened on January 24th at the Provincial Museum.
 
Ebullient music activities
 
Reportedly, Hai Dang Song and Dance Troop will join the cultural week with four arts programs at 2-4 Square on Lunar New Year’s Eve (January 1st), the 3rd, 4th and 6th day of the first lunar month. (February 2nd, 3rd, 5th).
 
The Provincial Traditional Art Theatre will perform the traditional arts at 2-4 Square with the extracts of Tuong (Vietnamese classical drama), bai choi, etc. Beside, there will be arts programs served for people in Khanh Son and Khanh Vinh Commune.
 
Other cultural activities will take place on Tet occasion 2014, such as bai choi festival (February 2 – 9), unicorn – lion – dragon dance and human chess competition (February 2 -4).
 
From January 30th to February 5th, many films will be screened at Mini Cinema at 10 Hoang Hoa Tham Street, Nha Trang City. Khanh Hoa Cinema Center also will launch many mobile film-screening programs in the remote areas. 
 
According to Truong Dang Tuyen, Director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the numerous interesting activities held in the cultural week “Celebrating Communist Party –Welcoming Spring 2014” will bring the locals and tourists a happy and remarkable Lunar New Year festival.
