The Spring Newspaper Festival, the annual activity held on the New Year occasion of Khanh Hoa Province, is an interesting destination for not only the press but also the readers in the province.

The Spring Newspaper Festival, the annual activity held on the New Year occasion of Khanh Hoa Province, has  opened since January 24. This  is an interesting destination for not only the press but also readers in the province.
 
On the days near Tet, the press and readers in Khanh Hoa Province often wait eagerly for the opening of the Spring Newspaper Festival, often takes place in the Provincial Library and other localities in the province. Each spring newspaper contains the heart of a press agency. Beside the topicality, the subjects of the articles published on the spring newspapers need to be interesting and attractive than usual. Therefore, many journalists were preoccupied with their works from 3 – 4 months ago.

The Spring Newspaper Festival is really an opportunity for the journalists to show their dedicated works after a hard-working year. This is also an occasion for the press to gather and review their works in the last year as well as exchange to promote the professional skills. The keen journalists can also find some interesting subjects through the articles of the colleagues.
 
The 2014 Spring Newspaper Festival displays about 3,000 newspapers of over 600 press agencies across the country. At the closing ceremony  on February 11th, the organization board will give awards to the best presented newspaper and 10 best articles about Khanh Hoa Province. All the newspapers displayed at the festival will be sent to the soldiers and people on the Spratly Islands, the provincial border guards, libraries and cultural post offices of the mountainous regions.
 
According to Doan Minh Long, Permanent Deputy Chairman of Khanh Hoa Press Association, the organization board will associate with the localities to offer 270 computers (sponsored by Bill Gates Foundation in Vietnam) to the cultural post offices which have financial difficulty in the province. This is the new point of this year’s Spring Newspaper Festival, aiming to help readers to look for information on the internet on the Tet occasion. This is also an occasion to raise the reading culture of people in the province, especially the ones in the remote regions and the ethnic minorities.
