Khanh Hoa Province held a lot of ebullient and attractive activities before, during and after  Lunar New Year  days in order to create locals and tourists in Nha Trang City a happy and boisterous festival atmosphere.

Unique activities on streets

As usual, on Tet occasion, the 2-4 Square was the main place in Nha Trang City to hold numerous cultural - art activities. Before Tet (from January 22 to 30), the locals and tourists in the beach city could enjoy the boisterous atmosphere with the unicorn dance festival and special music show welcoming the Lunar New Year. The resounding drum beats, skilled unicorn dances and lively performances of over 100 artists from the Hai Dang Song and Dance Troop and Khanh Hoa Provincial Cultural Center made the audiences feel “hotter” in the cool weather of New Year.

During Tet days, the stage at 2-4 Square was also ebullient with a lot of activities, such as the traditional art show (the 1st day of Lunar Year), bai choi festival (from the 1st to the 10th) and music show of Hai Dang Song and Dance Troop celebrating 84th year anniversary of  the Communist Party of Vietnam (the 4th).

Beside the activities taking place at the 2-4 Square, other cultural - art activities were organized in some parks in Nha Trang City each night on Tet occasion. Especially, the art show of artisans from Khanh Vinh District, held from the 2nd to the 4th, with many unique traditional performances of Ede and Raglai ethinic groups attracted a lot of audiences.

In addition, the human chess festival and exhibitions also drew the attention of a large number of locals and tourists.

Attractive cinemas

The cinemas in Nha Trang City prepared many interesting films which were mostly entertaining and comedy ones to attract the audiences to the cinemas on Lunar New Year 2014, such as “Bride wars II” (Co dau dai chien 2), “I will come back home next year” (Nam sau con lai ve) and “The Monkey King”. Reportedly, the tickets for those films were often sold out before the showtimes.

The Platinum Cinema has three screening halls with 300 seats, offering 5 – 7 shows per day. However, on the peak days, this cinema had to raise the number of shows to meet the entertaining demands of viewers.

The Lotte Cinema Nha Trang with 4 screening halls and 500 seats were always full during Tet holiday. “On the peak days, about 3,000 viewers went to our cinema each day, up nearly 1,000 ones per day compared to last year. Therefore, the cinema’s turnover was 10 times higher than the normal days,” said Lam Dao Huan, head of Lotte Nha Trang Cinema.

With many diversified and unique cultural – art activities, Nha Trang City provided the locals and tourists a happy and ebullient atmosphere on New Year’s days.
