The awarding ceremony of Khanh Hoa Press Award 2014, held on June 20, honored 22 execellent works about the province published on media. Most of the awarded works are against the negative.
 
The Khanh Hoa Press Award 2014 attracted 135 works of 75 authors and groups of authors in Khanh Hoa Province. This year’s award saw the majority of the printed works (98 ones) compared to the works of the other types of journalism such as broadcast journalism (television: 19 works, radio: 6 works), photo journalism (8 works) and video clip (4 works).
 
The entries had diverse contents, reflecting many aspects of the society such as good people, good deeds, typical models in learning and following the moral example of President Ho Chi Minh and investigative reports finding out negative issues.

The theme about the Spartly Islands and Khanh Hoa’s islands and seas attracted the attention of a lot of authors; therefore, it appeared in most of the journalism types.
 
"The new feature of this year’s award was the participation of the online press works. Although this type of journalism has just been recently appeared, it offered some quite good works and one of those won the third prize at this year’s press award", said Truong Tan Minh, the Director of Khanh Hoa Television and Radio and Chairman of the provincial Journalists' Association.
 
Beside the provincial press agencies, the Khanh Hoa Press Award 2014 also attracted the attention of many Central newspapers and other press agencies, including VTV Phu Yen, Con Thuong Newspaper, Thanh Nien Newspaper, Lao Dong Xa Hoi Newspaper, Phap Luat Ho Chi Minh City Newspaper, etc. That showed the increasing prestige of Khanh Hoa Press Award.
 
The quality of this year’s entries was as good as those in previous years. Many articles of printed newspaper opportunely reported the outstanding problems and events, such as illegal timbering and defrauding. Such works made significant contributions in reducing the negative issues in the society.
 
Beside the critical articles, the authors also reported on the new and positive factors in society. The articles about the Spratly Islands, seas and islands also drew the attention of the readers.
 
The broadcast journalism also had many high-quality entries with talks, reports, documentary films, etc. about the issues attracting the attention of many people.
 
It can be said that the Khanh Hoa Press Award 2014 was successful with awards granted to deserving works.
