With nearly 100 musical items of 17 public arts groups performed in four nights (June 23 - 26), this year’s public arts festival created an ebullient wave of cultural – arts activities, attracting a large number of audiences. Compared to the previous years, the 2014 festival saw the better investment of the participants for their items, especially the singing and dancing items of the whole group.
Most of the items revolved the theme, praising the national sea and islands. In the context that all people across the country have been unanimously looking toward the East Sea, the festival themed on the sea and islands attracted the attention of a lot of audiences. The strong and heroic lyrics together with lively dances portrayed successfully the images of the soldiers who are protecting the national sovereignty on the remote islands as well as the images of the fishermen and the zeal to their works. All these things not only brought the temporary excitement to the audiences but also strengthened the love for the national sea and islands of the public.

Besides, the public arts groups from the districts like Khanh Vinh, Khanh Son, Ninh Hoa, Dien Khanh, etc. also reflected the typical cultural features of their localities through their performances, creating their own distinctive imprints.
The participation of the public arts groups of the businesses and provincial Veterans’ Association added more colors to the festival.
According to Le Van Hoa, Cultural Bureau Chief of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the provincial 12th public arts festival 2014 is the one which has the highest quality ever since it was first organized, marking a new step of the public arts movement in the province.
The 2014 Khanh Hoa provincial public arts festival has closed; however, the lyrics and dances about the homeland, sea and islands still remain in the mind of the audiences. Hopefully, more events like this festival will be held in the grass-roots areas in order to increase the love for homeland, sea and islands of the Vietnamese.
