Starting as a singer of the singing movement of transportation industry in Khanh Hoa Province, Kim Khanh became the top singer at the cabarets in Nha Trang City. Kim Khanh considers singing as a “fate” and a joy in her life. She feels the freshness of herself and the beauty of life when she sings.
For over tens years, Kim Khanh whose real name is Tran Thi Kim Thoa, 55 years old, has been familiar to people who often come to the cabarets in Nha Trang City, especially Phu Si Cabaret. However, she had been known by few Khanh Hoa people as well as the television viewers till she joined “Tieng hat mai xanh 2012”, an amateur singing contest on the national television channel. Especially, Khanh Hoa people were astonished because they had not known there was such a good voice in the province.
With her good performances, Kim Khanh attracted the attention of a large number of audiences. She beat thousands of candidates to be selected as one of the nine contestants to enter the final round of the contest. Chosing difficult songs to sing, she was highly appreciated about professional performing style, precise feeling, strange and good voice by the organization board.
Finally, Kim Khanh won two additional prizes for the most favorite candidate when she performed in the musical night of forte music and for the candidate who sang the traditional, revolutionary and folk song most emotively. Although Kim Khanh was not selected as the three excellent candidates of that singing competition, she was one of the most prominent candidates of “Tieng hat mai xanh 2012”. Since that competition, her singing voice was loved by so many audiences that they looked for her songs on You Tube and left many comments to express their admiration.

After the “Tieng hat mai xanh 2012”, Kim Khanh was invited to join some musical programs hold by Ho Chi Minh City Television Station.
In 2014, Kim Khanh was the guest singer in the final night of “Tieng hat mai xanh 2014” to sing a duet with Huyen Chi Minh, a candidate of the competition. Their sweet and profound performance was a highlight in the final night and received the appreciation from the audience. Finally, Huyen Chi Binh won the highest prize at the 2014 competition. It can be said that Kim Khanh’s singing voice partly contributed in the success of Chi Binh at that singing competition.
Reportedly, Kim Khanh now moved to Dalat City according to an invitation from a cabaret there. In that city, Kim Khanh still sings love songs of Trinh Cong Son, Ngo Thuy Mien, Pham Duy, Pham Dinh Chuong, etc. Kim Khanh found a new musical space in Dalat. It is proud that a singer from the beach city is welcomed by the music lovers in Dalat, the city of love and flower.
