Flourishing gradually


Nha Trang Magazine (under Khanh Hoa Literature – Arts Association) was first published in 1976 with four successive names: Van nghe Phu Khanh, Sang tac Phu Khanh, Canh en and Nha Trang. After a long time with many rise and fall, Nha Trang Magazine has increasingly asserted its role in social life and has received high appreciation from readers in Khanh Hoa Province and Vietnam.   

Nowadays, Khanh Hoa Literature – Arts Association has more than 350 members, over 100 artists of whom are members of the Central specialized arts associations. Beside efforts and contributions from the association’s members, Nha Trang Magazine has also received the help and cooperation from many artists across the country. Therefore, the magazine has gradually implemented the objectives, such as performing the role of a provincial magazine; introducing works of local artists as well as heritages of literature and arts in Khanh Hoa to readers everywhere; creating opportunities for culture – arts in the province to integrate into the development of culture – arts of the whole country.

Since 2000, Nha Trang Magazine has been regularly released once a month with numerous attractive columns, becoming a spiritual food for readers in the province as well as the country.


In early 2013, Nha Trang Magazine was separated from Khanh Hoa Literature – Arts Association, becoming an independent accounting unit. With the increase of workforce, the quality of Nha Trang Magazine has been improved more and more. Apart from articles on the province’s development of economy and society, humanistic and creative short stories and poems, the magazine has also provided readers many knowledge about long-standing cultural aspects of a land as well as many cultural arts activities and events in the province, the country and the world through different columns.     

   
Creating opportunity for young authors to assert themselves


Nha Trang Magazine is now evaluated as one of the most attractive local literature-arts magazines in the country. The magazine always focuses on discovering, cultivating and introducing works of new, young authors. In several years,  many generations of editors of the magazine have always paid special attention and created favorable conditions for young, new authors to assert themselves. Hundreds of first works and researches of young artists have been introduced to the public by Nha Trang Magazine, partly helping those artists to keep passion for this creative writing work.


In the field of literature, there are quite many writers and poets who used to have their first works introduced on Nha Trang Magazine have succeeded in the path of writing. Among them are Do Kim Cuong, Le Khanh Mai, Hoang Nhat Tuyen, Tran Chan Uy, Nguyen Minh Ngoc, Bach Le Van Nguyen, Van Ha, Dao Minh Hiep, Trieu Lam Chau, Ton Nu Thu Thuy, Dang Minh Chau, Ai Duy, Khue Viet Truong, Luu Cam Van, Nguyen Duc Linh, Phung Tiet, Ha Nam Tien, Nguyen Hoa Lu, Ton Nu Thanh Yen, Dao Thi Thanh Tuyen, Ton Quang Minh, Ta Hung Viet, etc.


In recent years, there have been an significant impact on daily life of the artists because of the financial difficulties. However, many young writers in Khanh Hoa have kept composing until now.


Khanh Hoa Literature – Arts Association held three congresses for young writers in 2001, 2006 and 2008. The works of young authors who are living and working in Khanh Hoa province have also been constantly released on Nha Trang Magazine. Therefore, many young writers (like Phong Nguyen, Quoc Sinh, Le Duc Duong, Nguyen Thi Quynh Hoa, Tran Quang Huy, Vu Khue, Tran Khanh Linh, Le Duc Quang, etc.) could publish their own books and have had their works introduced or published on the Central and local newspapers and magazines.


Beside literature, Nha Trang Magazine is also a forum to introduce authors and works of many kinds of arts like stage, music, fine arts, photography, folk arts, etc.


With what has been done, Nha Trang Magazine will continue to be a forum for artists in Khanh Hoa Province in particular and Vietnam in general to introduce their works to the readers. The magazine is also one of the fulcrums for the young artists to create more valuable works.
