Vietnamese painter awarded Japan's Daifumi International Award

Daifumi International Award 2014 was presented to Vietnamese painter Nguyen Thuong Hy thanks to his numerous active contributions in preserving and restoring wooden heritages and architecture.

Daifumi International Award, Japan’s annual award on preservation of wooden heritages and architecture, aims to honor individuals and collectives who have actively contributed to preserving and restoring wooden heritages and architecture. The award was named after Japan’s famous carpenter Fumio Tanaka.

 

Nguyen Thuong Hy is the former Head of Professional Bureau of Quang Nam Provincial Center for Relics and Beautiful Landscapes Management. He is also the first Vietnamese awarded Daifumi International Award.
