Nghe Tinh Vi-Giam folk singing recognized by UNESCO as intangible cultural heritage of humanity

UNESCO has officially recognized Nghe Tinh Vi-Giam folk singing of Vietnam as a intangible cultural heritage of humanity on November 27 at the 9th session of the UNESCO's Inter-governmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in Paris, attended by 129 countries with more than 900 representatives.

According to the 2013 statistic, Nghe An Province and Ha Tinh Province have 260 villages where Vi-Giam folk singing are popular, 75 Vi-Giam singing clubs followed by over 1,500 members.
