On the occasion of the 70th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army and the 25th All People's Defense Day, the 24th music festival on soldiers held in Nha Trang City with many meticulously arranged items partly helped people in Khanh Hoa Province to review the army's glorious history as well as illuminate the love between the army and the people.

Running from December 15 to 19, this year’s music festival on the soldiers has been the most imposing one ever. 22 units performed more than 100 items of songs and dances, praising the love for nation and the heroic struggling tradition of Vietnam People’s Army. The attendance of some new units (Submarine Brigade 189, 22-12 Hospital, Nha Trang City Communist Youth Union, and provincial Women’s Union) brought a diversity of items to the 2014 festival. The items depicted the hard works and strenuous efforts of the soldiers on the parade-ground, the silent sacrifice of the soldiers to protect the country, their desire for happiness, helping the public to understand more about the soldiers’ life, thought and sentiment.

“Watching the soldiers performing on the stage, I realize that behind the rough appearance, the soldiers also have a young soul and are very romantic. I know more about the hardships they have suffered,” said Nguyen Thuy Linh, an audience at the festival.
There were a large number of participants and items performed at this year’s festival. Besides, the quality of those items was markedly increased. Most of the musical items were successfully performed and propagandized effectively about the Party, Uncle Ho, Vietnam People’s Army, country’s sovereignty and love between the army and the people.
A new point of this year’s festival was that many participating units took the initiative in most work of arrangement and staging and were not dependent much on the professionals. The rustic performance style of the amateur singers made the musical items more charming and gave pleasure to the audience.
Khanh Hoa is the only locality in the country which has held regularly this festival. For many years, apart from the attendance of the arts groups of the armed forces, the festival has also joined by many arts groups of the block of civilian units, such as provincial veterans’ association, Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest Company, Khanh Viet Corporation (Khatoco), Khanh Hoa Medical College and Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 4.
The increasing number of civilian units taking part in the festival not only reflected its attraction but also the interest of the public towards the founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army and the All People’s Defense Day. Many soldiers shared that they were very happy joining the festival because it gave them opportunity to express themselves and exchange with the soldiers of different units and especially the students in the province.
