Antique and ornamental creature exhibitions: adding a feature of spring to the beach city

The opening of the antique ornamental creature exhibitions 2015 took place on February 10, jointly held by Khanh Hoa Provincial Museum, Nha Trang Antique Club and Nha Trang Ornamental Creatures Association. With the quintessence of Vietnamese pottery and unique figures of ornamental plants, the exhibition promises to become an interesting place for locals and tourists to visit on Tet occasion.

The opening of the antique ornamental creature exhibitions 2015 took place on February 10, jointly held by Khanh Hoa Provincial Museum, Nha Trang Antique Club and Nha Trang Ornamental Creatures Association. With the quintessence of Vietnamese pottery and unique figures of ornamental plants, the exhibition promises to become an interesting place for locals and tourists to visit on Tet occasion.

 


The exhibition features 300 antiquities of the provincial Museum and members of Nha Trang Antique Club. Coming to the exhibition, the viewers have opportunity to contemplate many Vietnamese potteries and porcelains remained throughout the past 1,000 years. For example, the collection of Ly-Tran pottery (from 10th century to 14th century) includes brown ceramic flower plates and white ceramic glaze plates which are simple in style but beautiful in color. The antiquities made in Le dynasty period comprise articles made of blue and white glaze, brown glaze, etc. The exhibition also displays a collection of Chu Dau pottery which had a strongest development from the 14th century to 17th century with many articles such as plates, lime-pots, face-powder boxes, ink slabs, Ty Ba vases, etc., decorated with motifs bearing Vietnamese characters.


Beside famous types of pottery of the northern region, the exhibition also introduces to the viewers some types of southern region’s pottery, such as Lai Thieu pottery (Binh Duong Province), Bien Hoa pottery (Dong Nai Province), dating from the 19th century to early 20th century. A large number of antiquities of the Nguyen dynasty are also displayed at the exhibition.

According to Le Chi Huong, director of the provincial Museum, the exhibition aims to help the people to know more about the diversity and plentifulness of Vietnamese pottery and porcelain as well as arouse the national proud and love for cultural heritages of Vietnamese. The exhibition also creates an opportunity for the antique collectors to exchange with each other.


In addition to the antique exhibition, Khanh Hoa Provincial Museum also associated with Nha Trang City Ornamental Creatures Association to hold ornamental creature exhibition. Over 100 ornamental plants together with tens of ornamental stones being displayed at the exhibition have created an artistic space. The artisans must have made many efforts in shaping the plants and collecting unique stones. Contemplating those exhibits can bring the viewers an emotional harmony in the spring between human and nature.


With their own unique features, the antique ornamental creature exhibitions 2015 have gently added a feature of spring to the beach city.
