On February 12, the 19th Nha Trang City unicorn dance competition opened at 2-4 Square with the participant of 18 unicorn dancing teams from communes, wards and clubs of unicorn – lion – dragon dance in the city. The resounding drum beats, colorful unicorns together with wonderful unicorn dancing skills drew the attention of locals and tourists. The event partly contributed to conserve and uphold the nation’s traditional cultural values.
As usual, Khanh Hoa Provincial Center of Culture organized many traditional activities, such as bai choi festival (from the 1st to the 10th), arts kite flying (from the 2nd to the 4th), and human chess tournament (from the 3rd to the 5th).

Bai choi festival created a unique cultural space for locals and tourists on Tet occasion. The cultural activities of people in the Southern Central region were lively reflected through the traditional costumes and bai choi sings. During the games, the artisans also performed some excerpts from ancient bai choi sings to provide the audience a deeper insight into the unique and quintessence of this arts game. Many tourists showed their interest in bai choi festival. “I used to watch and play bai choi in Quang Nam Province; however, that province has no longer held the festival. Visiting Nha Trang on Tet occasion this time, I am very interested joining bai choi festival. It reminded me of old memories,” shared Nguyen Thu Huong, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City.
On Tet occasion, the 2-4 Square has been always a cultural rendezvous. The Hai Dang Song and Dance Troop in association with the provincial Traditional Arts Theatre and the provincial Cultural Center held a singing and dancing program to welcome New Year 2015 on February 18 (lunar December 30). The artists performed many joyous dances and sings about the spring and nation. From February 19 to 23 (1st to 5th of lunar month), the three units took turns to organize arts programs at 2-4 Square to serve locals and tourists.

During Tet days, Nha Trang City also held numerous exhibitions. The Provincial Cultural Center held an exhibition about the beauty of the land of aloe wood at the beach park (opposite Novotel Nha Trang Hotel). The exhibition displayed 100 art photos featuring and natural beauty, people and traditional culture of Khanh Hoa Province, focusing on the images of life in villages, traditional festivals and flower villages on Tet festival, etc.
Nha Trang City flower festival and antique ornamental creature exhibitions 2015 held at Khanh Hoa Provincial Museum also received many visitors on New Year festival.
Lotte Cinema Nha Trang and Platinum Nha Trang were also interesting places for the fans of movie, especially young people during Tet days. A large number of audiences packed the cinemas to see the films screened on Lunar New Year 2015. Coming to the cinemas to enjoy joyful atmosphere has become an indispensable pleasure of young people in Nha Trang on Tet says.
“I visit Nha Trang City on the occasion of New Year. The city is beautifully decorated. The festive atmosphere is everywhere. I am especially interested in cultural activities like unicorn dances, traditional music shows, etc.,” said Russian tourist Mikhail Bulgakov.
