Numerous arts programs
The highlights of this year’s festival are the opening and closing ceremony, street festival and musical program about sea and islands taking place at 2-4 Square, Nha Trang City. Reportedly, the festival’s organization board invited some Vietnamese famous directors to arrange the programs of the festival, including Tat My Loan, Binh Hung and Dinh Anh Dung.

“Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa Sea Festival itself has had its own branch. Therefore, we require the directors to arrange quality programs in a way which both highlights the cultural characteristics of the land of aloe wood and brings new features to those programs,” said Truong Dang Tuyen, director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
In addition to the main programs, the festival 2015 will feature many other arts activities such as sea fashion show, flashmod dance, bai choi festival, street arts and musical exchange. According to the organization board, Tran Phu Street will become the “festive street”. Specially, locals and tourists can join the activities as players.
A lot of exhibitions on sea and islands
Apart from arts activities, Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa Sea Festival 2015 also includes many exhibitions in which the most prominent is the exhibition on marine cultural heritages, documents on Truong Sa – Hoang Sa, maps, ancient bibliographies, archaeological artifacts, fishing equipment, etc. The provincial Cultural Center will hold an exhibition on the beauty of Khanh Hoa; the provincial Vestige Conservation Center will introduce pottery and brocade making skills of Cham people at Ponagar Temple.
During Sea Festival, Nha Trang Institute of Oceanography will open free for visitors to the seas and islands exhibition area. The exhibition displays document on typical scientific marine researches of the institute throughout the past 90 years; valuable marine projects; world’s scientific publications on sea published from the 17th to 18th century; world’s tamp collection on sea creatures, images on sea creatures and models depicting folk culture, etc.
With plenty of activities, Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa Sea Festival 2015 promises to bring locals and tourists colorful festive days.
