The festival for cultural propaganda groups is organized by Khanh Hoa Provincial Border Guard Headquarters every five year. This year’s festival was joined by 13 cultural propaganda groups, comprising 179 actors of the border posts, Flotilla II and Company XIX. The groups performed 45 items which focused on praising the Communist Party, Uncle Ho and the unity between the soldiers and civilians. The performances also lively reflected the life of the soldiers and residents living in the border areas and the virtue of the border soldiers.
Being well organized and arranged in many forms, the items performed at the festival reflected vividly the activities of the border officers and soldiers as well as departments, units, unions and people in Khanh Hoa province to protect the national sovereignty, borders, islands and seas. Especially, the participating groups incorporated in their items many burning problems in the province, such as eliminating drugs, clearance, resettlement, new rural building, and daily questions in the border areas. Many fine and inspiring performances aroused in the audience deep feelings.
“Nowadays, some fishermen have had misconceptions about marine environment protection so they have used explosives in fishing. Through our items, we want to convey a message about protecting marine environment,” said Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Huy Toai, member of Flotilla II’s cultural propaganda group.
Nguyen Thi Diem Duyen, collaborator of Cam Ranh Border Post’s cultural propaganda group, said the festival had been a meaningful program and had successfully showed the important role of propaganda in raising the public’s awareness on protecting national sovereignty over islands and seas.
According to the organization board, the 2016 festival created a distinctive mark compared to previous ones because the participants exploited the topic of many current burning questions in the province.
