Festival of radio broadcasting makers

The biennial national radio broadcasting festival is an opportunity for the radio broadcasting makers across the country to meet and exchange professional experience, which may help the radio broadcasting producers to have new ideas and new driving force in order to create breakthrough changes which are suitable to the age of digital technology and multimedia communications. Reportedly, 78 radio – television stations and centers in the country sent to the 2016 festival 267 entries of five genres, including reportage, interview, radio story, general broadcasting program and live broadcasting program. Through the primary round (held Thanh Hoa Province, Quang Ngai Province and An Giang Province), the jury chose 199 works to enter the on going final round in Nha Trang.
 
According to the organization board, the entries reflect many affairs of the society, such as comprehensive innovation progress of the country in the fields of politics, economic, culture, society and national security; ethnic policy and foreign affair policy; and country’s integration trend. Many entries were produced with modern digital technologies and meticulous care; have high expertise and great social values.
 
Within the framework of this year’s festival, there are also three workshops on radio broadcasting. “During the workshops, we hope that the famous journalists and leading experts will introduce more information and new technologies in the field of radio – television broadcasting as well as the trend of radio broadcasting in the age of digital technology,” said Tran Minh Thao, Radio Editorial Bureau Chief of Khanh Hoa Radio – Television Station.  
 
According to Thao, in the circumstance that the quality of life has been increasingly improved and the information technology has developed strongly and spread worldwide, the radio stations in general and radio broadcasting makers in particular have to equip themselves with knowledge and skills in a changing media landscape as well as keep with the latest information.
 
The closing of the 12th National Radio Broadcasting Festival takes place at Khanh Hoa Provincial Conference Center (46 Tran Phu Street, Nha Trang) on April 22; is broadcast live on VOV1, VOV, channel of quochoitv, VTC, KTV and some local radio – television stations. The prizes are expected to comprise 17 gold awards, 33 silver ones, 62 bronze ones, 87 certificates of merit and other awards given by VOV, the Ministry of Defense, Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and Vietnam Electricity.
