According to Doan Minh Long, Executive Committee Member of Vietnam Journalist Association, Chairman of Khanh Hoa Journalist Association, the provincial Journalist Association carried out many activities in the first six months of 2016. Specifically, the association in collaboration with the other units held the Spring Newspaper Festival 2016 at Khanh Hoa Provincial Library, displaying 6,155 publications of 395 newspapers and magazines. The festival's organization board also gave spring publications to Spratly District. As the chief unit of emulation group of the journalist associations in the central and south central region, Khanh Hoa Journalist Association designed the display of spring newspapers at the National Spring Newspaper Festival held in Hanoi.

In May, the association’s members participated in the seminar themed about propaganda on sovereignty over the national seas and islands, held in Ly Son, Quang Ngai Province; offered the participants more than 100 publications which were the collections of works about the Spratly Islands. Recently, the association opened a training class for the reporters and journalists; published the magazine about journalists in Khanh Hoa; formed the jury for Khanh Hoa Press Awards 2016.
Long assessed that the press agencies in Khanh Hoa Province have had improvements in many aspects, such as working condition and quality of the personnel. The quality of newspapers in Khanh Hoa has been increased, reflecting promptly, closely and comprehensively the social life in the urban, rural, remote areas and islands. The province’s journalism has also engaged more in the fight against the negative. Many problems reported by the journalists have been solved by the authorities, which has been highly appreciated by the public.
Many articles, reports and photos of Khanh Hoa Province and its people made by Khanh Hoa’s journalists were introduced to the readers and viewers over the country through the Central’s magazines and radio – television stations. This has been a noticeable achievement of Khanh Hoa’s journalism because there have not been many local articles published frequently on the Central newspapers. Khanh Hoa’s journalism has been in the vanguard of providing information and propaganda about the locality to the public in order to promote the province’s development.
Besides, the journalists of Khanh Hoa have had a firm political stuff and professional proficiency. They have also been highly aware of the social responsibilities, civic duties and professional ethic of the journalists. They have made discovered and researches many issues of popular interest; commended the good and criticized the evil. Khanh Hoa’s journalists were given high prizes at the press contests, radio – television festivals at the national level and Khanh Hoa Press Awards.
On the occasion of the 91st anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Journalism Day, Khanh Hoa Provincial Journalist Association organized the awarding ceremony of Khanh Hoa Press Awards 2016 and honored the excellent journalists. In addition, the journalists’ branches under the association held many activities, creating an ebullient atmosphere for the members. For example, the branch of Khanh Hoa Newspaper held a football open tournament; journalists’ branch of Khanh Hoa Radio – Television Station held an exchange for its members.
Reportedly, in the last six months of 2016, the provincial Journalist Association will hold a conference to partially sum up the activities of the journalism in the central – south central region. The association will also organize a seminar themed “Journalism accompanying with the businesses”; publish “Khanh Hoa’s journalists” special issue of four quarter; plan to hold the Spring Newspaper Festival 2017, etc. Especially, the association will organize the seventh Congress of Khanh Hoa Journalists, 2016- 2021 tenure.
