Nha Trang Antique Club was established in 2013 on the occasion of Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day, having 30 members. On the occasion of establishment, the club organized an antique exhibition, displaying more than 400 objects. At the exhibition, the collection of potteries, porcelains of collector Nguyen Minh Vy, Chu Dau pottery of collector Nguyen Huu Tuan and ancient lamps of Doctor Nguyen Van Huy drew much attention of the visitors. The success of the exhibition provided further confidence to the antique collectors. Since then, the club has held many more antique exhibitions. Additionally, the antique fair held by the club on the occasion of Lunar New Year 2016 attracted not only collectors in Nha Trang but also in Ninh Hoa Town and Phu Yen City.

Nha Trang Antique Club has created a useful playground for the people who are interested in antiquities, helping them to complement their collections. “The club has a meeting once a month, helping the collectors to exchange and learn about how to identify the origin, age and appraise the antiquities. Besides, we also hold antique auctions to raise funds,” said Dao Hoa, Head of Nha Trang Antique Club.

Until now, the number of members of Nha Trang Antique Club has increased to more than 30 people. Apart from the senior collectors, there have been more and more young people showing interest in antiquities. At present, the club is working with Khanh Hoa Provincial Museum to create a photo book featuring the precious antiques of the club’s members.

Reportedly, in recent years, the provincial Museum has organized many exhibitions to serve the public, featuring a large number of antiques of individual collectors.

According to the leaders of the provincial Museum, the activities of Nha Trang Antique Club have reflected the movement of socializing the cultural activities in general and cultural heritage preservation activities in particular; promoted the movement of donating antiques to the state’s organizations. Besides, the museum has planed to form the antique clubs in Ninh Hoa and Cam Ranh, etc. in order to propose the establishment of Khanh Hoa Antique Association.
