Hallmark of Vietnamese culture reflected through program of A Chau Folk Arts Theatre

Hai Dang Group recently opened A Chau Folk Arts Theatre at 62 Thai Nguyen Street, Nha Trang City. The opening program of the theatre bore the hallmark of Vietnam's folk culture and left a good impression on the audience.

A Chau Folk Arts Theatre has 500 seats and is equipped with a modern sound and lighting system. On the opening night, the artists and actors of the theatre performed many items which featured the folk culture and arts of Vietnam. The audience could see some typical characteristics of Vietnam’s culture through dancing items with Ao Dai, Hue palm-leaf conical hat and traditional instruments performances. The lotus dance which was performed rhythmically with lissome movements showed the pure beauty of lotus, the flower symbolizing the spirit and vitality of Vietnamese.
 
The program of A Chau Folk Arts Theatre also reflected the cultural characteristics of the regions throughout Vietnam. They were umbrella dance of people in the Northwest of Vietnam; puppetry performance of people in the flat country in the North; palm-leaf conical hat dance of Hue; Cham dance. Besides, the traditional instruments solos of the artists, who were music teachers at the music academy across the country, also created an exciting atmosphere on the opening night. 
 
Specially, the backgrounds used in the program, filmed by the flycam, introduced to the audience many beautiful landscapes across Vietnam, such as terraced rice fields in the Northwest, Hoan Kiem Lake (Sword Lake) in Hanoi, Ha Long Bay, sandy beaches in the Central and rivers in the South. The music, dancing movements and images intertwined, making the audience to feel the peacefulness and cultural features of Vietnam.
 
“The program of A Chau Folk Arts Theatre was elaborately stages with high quality, reflecting the typical cultural features of the three regions. The program focused on dancing and traditional instruments performances, which is suitable to serve the international tourists,” said Le Van Hoa, Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism. 
 
Reportedly, apart from the items of Vietnamese folk culture, the theatre will stage the items featuring the traditional arts of Russia and the countries in Asia.
 
According to Ngo Hoai Chung, Deputy General Director of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), Hai Dang Group is the first tourism business having built an art place to serve the entertainment needs of tourists. The theatre is also expected to contribute to conserve and uphold the values of Vietnam’s folk culture as well as introduce them to the tourists over the world.
