As said by Doan Minh Long, Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial Journalists’ Association, the spring newspaper festival has become a cultural beauty of the aloe wood land, which has excited interest in the readers. The festival is an opportunity for the press agencies, journalists and reporters to meet and exchange to improve the newspapers’ content and form. The 2017 Spring Newspaper Festival, themed “Celebrating Communist Party, New Year and new opportunity of country”, is slated to be organized at Khanh Hoa Provincial Cultural Center (No.5 2-4 Street, Nha Trang City) from January 23 to February 7, 2017.
The provincial Journalists’ Association associated with the provincial Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism to make plan for the festival. Reportedly, the organization board will change the festival’s venue and try to expand the number of visitors to the festival. In addition to the Spring Newspaper Festival, on the occasion of Lunar New Year 2017, Khanh Hoa Provincial Center of Culture plans to hold other activities like “don ca tai tu” (traditional improvisational chamber music) and calligraphy writing, which are expected to draw more visitors.
As planned, the 2017 Spring Newspaper Festival will display more than 500 newspapers with nearly 4,000 publications which are bought from the funds and from the supports of the businesses through socialization. Besides, the festival will exhibit the propaganda documents of the Central Propaganda and Training Commission and Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Propaganda and Training, aiming to publicize the resolutions of the Communist Party and country.
According to Doan Minh Long, the publications at the 2017 Spring Newspaper Festival will be displayed in the shape of a huge book surrounded by newspapers and documents about islands and sea. With this way of display, the organization board hopes to evoke the love of the visitors towards the homeland’s islands and sea, especially Spratly Island District.
The newspapers will also be transferred to the localities in the province so that the spring publications can reach the locals. After the end of the Spring Newspaper Festival, all exhibited works will be given to civilians and soldiers on Spratly Island District, Border Guard, and local libraries and cultural centers.
As usual, there will awards given to the most excellent works about Khanh Hoa Province published on spring newspapers. The awards aim to encourage and recognize the contributions of the journalists to the development of the province’s journalism.
