The fourth Spring Flower Festival of Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa not only displays the beauty of nature but also embodies the traditional features of Vietnam’s villages.
Visiting the 2017 Spring Flower Festival, the visitors can see the familiar images of villages in Vietnam through displayed objects, such as a clump of banana plants, trellised gourds, flock of chickens by the mound of straw, traditional wood cabinet, bamboo bed, lunar New Year pole (cây nêu), square glutinous rice cake (bánh chưng), and cylindrical glutinous rice cake (bánh tét).
“The spring flower festival is organized to honor the country’s traditional cultural values. Therefore, the organizers pay a special attention on representing the images of villages in order to introduce the locals and tourists many cultural identities of Vietnam,” said Nguyen Si Khanh, Deputy Chairman of Nha Trang City People’s Committee, head of organizing committee of Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa Spring Flower Festival 2017.
Beside the space of Vietnam’s villages, there are also landscaping reflecting the life and work of people in the fishing villages, which expresses the wishes of the fishers in Khanh Hoa for a bumper new year.
Reportedly, the 2017 Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa Spring Flower Festival will incorporate a new activity, the Eleventh Folk Song – Ancient Music Festival, which will take places every night during the Spring Flower Festival.
As reported by Nguyen Dinh Huan, Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial Ornamental Creature Association, deputy head of organizing committee of the 2017 Spring Flower Festival, apart from the bonsai, the space of this year’s festival will keep being landscaped with numerous flower plants. A contest on rockwork, ornamental trees and flowers, including apricot blossom for the first time, will also be held.
The Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa Spring Flower Festival 2017, taking place at Children’s Park and Yen Phi Park from January 20 to February 1, promises to bring the locals and tourists in Nha Trang City a space full of traditional cultural features on lunar New Year.
