Numerous activities to mark Vietnam Book Day in Khanh Hoa

Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee has recently issued plan to mark Vietnam Book Day 2017 (April 21) in Khanh Hoa Province.
 

Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee has recently issued plan to mark Vietnam Book Day 2017 (April 21) in Khanh Hoa Province.
 
According to Tran Duy Loc, Director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Information and Communications, the activities of Vietnam Book Day 2017 will coincide with the celebration of the World Book and Copyright Day (April 23). Khanh Hoa Provincial plans to hold many meaningful activities on this occasion. For example, in April, the provincial Department of Information and Communications will associate with the provincial Department of Education and Training, provincial Library to organize a book arrangement contest for the junior high schools in Nha Trang City. 
 
The provincial Library will hold an exhibition showcasing books on culture, history, politics, society, science, technology, economic and tourism. In the past, many exhibitions about Dien Bien Phu Victory, Ho Chi Minh Campaign, President Ho Chi Minh, the Communist Party of Vietnam over periods, Khanh Hoa’s Party Committee and people over time, Vietnam’s seas and islands, etc, were held successfully by the library. Therefore, this year’s exhibition is expected to continue to attract the interest of the public. Additionally, on April 21, there will be a talk show on reading culture and reading habit of the youth nowadays; reading skills and selection of books suitable for each age group; typical young writers, outstanding books about seas and islands. 
 
On this occasion, Khanh Hoa Radio-Television Station will hold a talk about Vietnam Book Day; introduce a typical clan having family bookcase. In response to Vietnam Book Day 2017, some bookstores and book publishers, for example Khanh Hoa Book Publishing Joint Stock Company, Phuong Nam Bookstore, and Fahasa Bookstore, will exhibit books and offer discount on many books.
 
Loc said that in order for these activities to take place effectively as well as to draw the attention of the public, the localities, provincial departments and organizations need to promote the propaganda activities. As planned, the provincial Department of Education and Training will launch a reading movement in schools; hold book clubs and story-telling contests, and so on.
