At the ceremony, Nguyen Dac Tai, leaders of Nha Trang City, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Naval Institute and many other people burnt incense to commemorate the nation’s hero.
Earlier, the organizers held a ritual to pray for peace and thurified at Tran Hung Dao Statue at Bach Dang Park (Nha Trang City).
The Battle of Bach Dang River in 1288 was one of the greatest naval battles in Vietnam’s military history. This was the third victory of Dai Viet against the Yuan dynasty, asserting firmly the independence of the country.
