Diversified art programs
The organization committee of the 2017 Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa Sea Festival selected Le Quy Duong Co., Ltd. (Ho Chi Minh City) to be in charge of the main events of the festival. The organization committee required the festival’s directors to organize a quality festival; highlight the typical cultural characteristics of Khanh Hoa; add some new features to the festival.

The highlights of the 2017 Sea Festival are the opening and closing ceremony, music and fashion show “Pearl Night”, EDM night “We are raver” and street festival. A part from Vietnam’s art troops and artist, the opening ceremony will see the performances of some foreign ones. Beside the main events taking place at 2-4 Square, the 2017 Sea Festival of Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa will include many art activities, such as folk music program, rock music program, music and poem program, flash mod dance and “bài chòi” (Vietnam’s traditional art form) festival.
“In addition to Vietnamese traditional items like “đờn ca tài tử” (traditional improvisational chamber music) and musical instrument performance, the folk music program will include some items from Japanese and Indian art troops. Through this program, the spectators can enjoy performances of some Asian countries,” said Nguyen Phuong Dong, Director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Cultural Center, the organizing unit of “bài chòi” festival and folk music program in the 2017 Sea Festival.
The cultural activities will partly create boisterous atmosphere for the sea festival. Tran Phu Street is expected to become a festive road with numerous activities taking place there. This year’s sea festival will also offer opportunity for the spectators to actually take part in activities, and among them are some prize-winning competitions.
Many exhibitions and festivals
Along with many art performances, the 2017 Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa Sea Festival also includes numerous exhibitions. Khanh Hoa Provincial Museum will corporate with the External Relations Department to organize a Vietnam-France painting exhibition; work with Nha Trang Antique Club and Nha Trang Ornamental Creatures Association to hold exhibitions on ornamental creatures, antiquities and ancient vehicles.
The provincial Cultural Center will hold exhibition about Vietnam’s south-central coastal and highland area at the beach park (Tran Phu Street, Nha Trang); provincial Children’s House have a painting contest about Khanh Hoa for children. Khanh Viet Corporation planned to hold an exhibition on models of Khanh Hoa’s monuments, relics and landscape site. Cham pottery making and brocade will also be presented to visitors at Ponagar Temple during the Sea Festival.
Besides, the sea festival have many festivals bearing the distinctive characteristics of a coastal province, such as Whale Worshipping Ceremony, salanganes nest festival, cuisine competition themed about seafood.
