The meticulous and quality works reflecting hot issues were highly appreciated at the Khanh Hoa Press Awards 2017.
Apart from the journalists’ branches under Khanh Hoa Journalists’ Association, the 2017 Press Awards of Khanh Hoa Province attracted the attention and participation of 18 press agencies of the central and Ho Chi Minh City operating in Khanh Hoa. The awards received 140 entries of 131 journalists and groups of journalists, up seven entries compared to 2016.
The entries of this year’s awards reflected many spheres of life in different points of view. The printed journalism made up the largest number of entries. Especially, many journalists wrote in-depth reports about many issues of social concern, such as the shortcomings at the resettlement areas, national sea and islands, Captain Bui Mong, fishing ship built under the Decree 67 running aground, grade 10 entrance exam, and solutions to reduce traffic jam in Nha Trang City. The entries of broadcast journalism also reflected many hot issues through high quality works like fishermen clinging on sea, branding of Nha Trang fish sauce, Spratly Islands, etc. However, this year’s awards saw a drop of radio journalism and video clip of online journalism in both quantity and quality.
Finally, the organization committee gave two first prizes, four second prizes, six third prizes, ten consolation prizes and two collective prizes to outstanding entries.
According to the jury, many entries of Khanh Hoa Press Awards 2017 were meticulously done and impacted strongly the civil authorities and community. Through the entries, we can see that the journalists worked hard in order to provide the readers and audience information which is accurate, reliable and convincible. Some journalists found out and reflected with detailed information about the difficulties in implementing the policies of the State.
The articles about the Spratly Islands were also highly appreciated by the jury. Many entries successfully highlighted the image of the fishermen with resolute determination, overcoming many obstacles to cling on sea. The Spratly Islands and national sovereignty at sea were lively reflected through the images of the unyielding soldiers and people full of vigor on the islands.
But even so, there were only a few entries of good people and good deeds at this year’s awards. Hopefully, in the future, the propaganda about typical examples of good people and good deeds in all aspect of life will be promoted better in order to partly build a better life.
