The 2017 roving festival for propaganda teams of Khanh Hoa Province held recently was a lively cultural activity which attracted the public’s attention.
Eight roving propaganda teams from the districts, towns and cities throughout the province (excluding Spratly District) took part in the festival in three sections: introduction, propaganda skills and informative story. Propaganda vehicle decoration and propaganda parade were other events of the festival.
New features were incorporated into the content and form of performance of this year’s festival compared to the previous ones. For example, the decoration for propaganda vehicles was invested better; the musical items were lively arranged. Through the items, the participating teams reflected many hot issues and matters of concern to the public, such as forest protecting, unhygienic foods, human trafficking, “bài chòi” (Vietnam’s traditional art form) preserving and upholding, fighting against child marriage and consanguineous marriage.
Many items made good impression on the audience, such as the story about a person named Hai Ca of Van Ninh District, propaganda skills on learning and following the moral example and style of President Ho Chi Minh of Khanh Son team, and image of Gac Ma (Johnson South Reef) Memorial Site in the item of Nha Trang team. Cam Ranh City and Cam Lam District also showed creativity by using visual images and arranging stage, etc. The festival partly reflected the concern of the authorities at all levels and the enthusiasm of the people doing roving propaganda at the grass-roots level.
It could be said that the festival was a useful activity for the cultural propagandists in Khanh Hoa. Through the festival, the people working in the field of roving propaganda had an opportunity to exchange and learn experience from each other. “I learned a lot through this year’s festival, especially the competence of propagandists at grass-roots level and how to improve the quality of propaganda programs,” said Nguyen Thuy Hang, working at Khanh Vinh District Culture – Sports Center.
Nguyen Phuong Dong, Director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Center of Culture, appreciated the quality of the 2017 festival for roving propaganda teams. He also pointed out some problems which need to be improved. Some propaganda vehicles and stage were not decorated and arranged appropriately, and selected propaganda stories were not typical, for example.
