Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee has just released the plan for target program on cultural development in the province, 2017-2020 period. The program will focus on preserving and up holding the values of traditional unique cultural characteristics over the province.
As planned, in the mentioned period, Khanh Hoa will strive to meet the targets, such as investing and renovating five national level monuments; preserving and up holding four intangible cultural heritages; providing equipment to the provincial Traditional Art Theatre, provincial Cultural Center and two district-level culture – sports centers; offering around 10,000 books to the provincial Library. The other targets of the program are training the officers of the commune- and district-level cultural section; opening training classes for officers and actors of the provincial Art Traditional Theatre and Hai Dang Song and Dance Troop; doing surveys, researches as well as learning experience from other provinces in managing, preserving and up holding the values of the monuments.
The total expenditure for the program is approximately VND107.3 billion, consisting of more than VND40.2 billion from National Budget, more than VND28.7 billion from provincial budget, nearly VND35.4 billion from the revenue from the entrance fees of Ponagar Temple and Hon Chong tourist sights; VND3 billion from other funds.

The main targets of this plan, as said by Le Van Hoa, Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Culture and Sports, is preserving and up holding the values of the unique cultural heritages in the province; increasing the investment in material facilities for the cultural section in order to promote the development of the traditional culture.
According to the plan, in the 2017-2020 period, Khanh Hoa will renovate Dien Khanh Ancient Citadel (second stage); renovate Hon Chong – Hon Do tourist sight (Nha Trang); build stone tablet and signboard of Mui Doi - Hon Doi tourist sight (Van Thanh Commune, Van Ninh District); upgrade road to Dr. Alexandre Yersin Tomb (Suoi Cat Commune, Cam Lam District); renovate Hoa Diem Archeological Site (Cam Thinh Dong Commune, Cam Ranh City).
Apart from these projects, the provincial cultural section will promote the preservation and up holding of some intangible cultural heritages like Whale Worshipping Ceremony, Ponagar Temper Festival, bai choi folk art, etc.
After Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee released the plan for the target program on cultural development in the province, the provincial Department of Culture and Sports issued the documents instructing the organizations and units to carry out the projects.
