On November 29, the cluster of five coastal provinces in the South Central held a conference to summarize the emulation movement of the cultural, sports, and tourism section in 2017.

At the conference, the conferees summarized and recapitulated the activities of the provincial Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism of five provinces in the cluster, including Khanh Hoa (head of the cluster in 2017), Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, and Phu Yen.

The conferees also decided to propose that the Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Khanh Hoa and Quang Nam be awarded emulation flag by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Quang Nam Provincial Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism was elected as the head of the cluster in 2018.
