The Swackhammer Band performs at Louisiane Brewhouse (Tran Phu Street, Nha Trang) once a week. Erick Swackhammer (Canadian, leader of Swackhammer Band) said that he first came to Vietnam 14 years ago with his band. They were on tour at that time and Erick decided to stay in Nha Trang after finishing their performances instead of going to Ho Chi Minh City with his band members. He formed his own band afterwards which comprised members from different countries. After many years, his band now has four members.
The Swackhammer Band plays many genres of music, such as blues, country, funk/soul, rock, and pop. Their music has helped the tourists to enjoy their stay in Nha Trang, and connect people. Rebecca Nunez (tourist from Malorca, Spain) shared that enjoying a glass of beer while listening to music, looking towards the sea made her feel at home.
With more than ten years living in Nha Trang, Erick said that the beach city was like his second homeland. He has shown his love for Nha Trang in different ways. For example, recently, he called for donations to support people affected by the 12th storm (Damrey Typhoon).

There was a time when there were a lot of Philippine singers and bands performing at the big hotels and restaurants in Nha Trang like Vinpearl, Sunrise, Sheraton, InterContinental, Sailing Club, and Louisiane Brewhouse, etc. According to Alex Nugo, a Philippine artist living in Nha Trang, many Philippine people have passion for music. Philippine artists, as said by Tran Long, a music program organizer in Nha Trang, can play many different musical instruments, and often perform world famous songs with their fluent English. Besides, these artists can sing many songs of Vietnamese songwriter Trinh Cong Son.
Nowadays, the number of tourists from Europe and North America travelling to Nha Trang has decreased compared to the past. Therefore, there have been fewer Philippine singers and bands performing in Nha Trang. The Philippine artists now often perform at La Mancha restaurant, Sheraton Nha Trang Hotel & Spa, InterContinental Nha Trang, and some resorts in the Northern Cam Ranh Peninsula Tourist Area.
Alex said that Nha Trang has changed a lot since he moved here. More and more tourists travelling to Nha Trang, and the working environment has become better. He added that it is normal for the musicians and singers to perform during holidays like Christmas and New Year. They perform with joy, making the city more interesting and its people happier.
