On February 5, Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Dac Tai presided at a meeting with typical writers and artists who gained good achievements in 2017. Also present at the meeting were Phan Thong, Vice-Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Council, leaders of Khanh Hoa’s Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, provincial Department of Culture and Sports, provincial Association of Literature and Arts.

In 2017, thousands of works of Khanh Hoa writers and artists were released and displayed. Many writers and artists took part and won prizes at the contests held in and outside the country. Song writer Hinh Phuoc Long and screenwriter Nguyen Sy Chuc were awarded National Award for Literature and Arts.

At the meeting, the writers and artists proposed that the provincial Department of Culture and Sports formulate a regulation on enrolment for traditional theatre artists; invest more and promote the programs of Khanh Hoa Provincial Traditional Arts Theatre in the media; provide funds for some activities of provincial Association of Literature and Arts; devise solutions to preserve and promote Bài Chòi, a traditional art form in Central Vietnam which was recently recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Nguyen Dac Tai highly appreciated the efforts and contributions of the writers and artists; offered New Year’s wishes to the attendees. He also directed the relevant units to synthesize the suggestions and put forward to the provincial People’s Committee.
