After nearly 20 years since establishment, the communes’ cultural post offices in Khanh Hoa have been changing positively in order to offer more convenient services to the people in the rural areas.

According to Tran Quang Huy, Head of Nha Trang Cultural Post Office, since July 2017, multi-service model has been applied at six out of six cultural post offices in Nha Trang City. In the past, the communal cultural post offices only offered very few services to the customers. People only visited the communal cultural post offices for reading or telephoning. Nowadays, the communal cultural post offices have some additional services such as parcel post service, postal financial service, and communication & distribution.

Thanks to the postal financial service, the locals do not have to go to the city post office to receive money sent by their relatives. Since having applying this multi-service model, the number of customers per day at these communal cultural post offices has increased to around 20 or even 100 people in peak times. The turnover of the communal cultural post offices and the income of the staffs have also increased.

The mountainous area Khanh Vinh is now having 13 cultural post offices applying this multi-service model. This change has helped the locals to use convenient services of the post offices without having to travel a long distance as before as well as has been bringing an increasing in number of customers and turnover to the communal cultural post offices. It can be said that the service improvement has revived the communal cultural post offices which used to face a lot of difficulties.

As said by Ung Thi Van, Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Post Office, the multi-service model started to be carried out at the end of 2015. Until late 2017, this model has been carried out at 58 out of 89 communal cultural post offices and 23 ones are planned to apply this model in the first quarter of 2018. The infrastructure has also been improved to meet the demand of this innovation.

Van also said that the provincial Post Office will continue to invest and raise the quality of the services at the communes’ cultural post offices; improve the professional competence of the post office staffs.
