Kafka Festival to be first organized in Vietnam

Kafka Festival 2018 will be first organized in Hanoi to mark the 135th birth anniversary of German-speaking Bohemian Jewish writer Franz Kafka (July 3, 1883 – June 3, 1924) with the participation of the embassies of Austria, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, and Switzerland in Vietnam. 
 

Kafka Festival 2018 will be first organized in Hanoi to mark the 135th birth anniversary of German-speaking Bohemian Jewish writer Franz Kafka (July 3, 1883 – June 3, 1924) with the participation of the embassies of Austria, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, and Switzerland in Vietnam. 
 
The festival includes a series of cultural activities (talk on Kafka’s life, career and works; photo and documentary exhibitions; film screening; art show; scientific seminar) taking place at over 20 places throughout Hanoi in around one month starting from March 24.

 

 
Franz Kafka was born in Prague (now is the capital of the Czech Republic). He composed mainly in German. His best known works are Die Verwandlung (The Metamorphosis), Der Prozess (The Trial), and Das Schloss (The Castle).
