Handover ceremony of UNESCO Certificate of Bài Chòi in Central Vietnam

The handover ceremony of UNESCO Certificate of the art of Bài Chòi in Central Vietnam was solemnly organized in Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province on May 5. Attending the ceremony were Vietnam's Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam.
 

The handover ceremony of UNESCO Certificate of the art of Bài Chòi in Central Vietnam was solemnly organized in Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province on May 5. Attending the ceremony were Vietnam’s Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam.
 
At the ceremony, Michael Croft, Head of Office and UNESCO Representative in Vietnam, handed over the certificate to leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam and nine provinces and cities where Bài Chòi has been practiced.

The art of Bài Chòi originates from Central Vietnam and have been popular in Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien - Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan). It was officially inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity at the 12th session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO on Jeju Island (Republic of Korea) on December 7, 2017.
