The third International Children’s Festival VTV 2018 taking place at Vinpearl Land Nha Trang from May 29 to June 3 was organized at a larger scale than the previous festivals. This year’s festival was jointly held by Vietnam Television and Vingroup. 150 children from eight countries (Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Russia, Republic of Korea, China, Japan) participated in the festival. Under the theme “For a green planet”, the outdoor activities of the 2018 festival focused on raising the children’s awareness of environmental protection, especially marine environment.

During the festival, the children took part in many interesting activities, such as visiting aquarium, learning about ecological environment of sea and rare marine spices, and exchange with each other through group activities. Visiting Vietnam for the first time through the third International Children’s Festival VTV 2018, Andi Zhagyta Amalia Azrika from Indonesia brought many souvenir gifts from his country to give to the children at the festival. Joining the festival, he learned many cultural characteristics of Vietnam.

The highlight of the International Children’s Festival VTV 2018 was the gala performance where the children introduced one of the typical cultural features of their country to the participants. The children from the Republic of Korea sang a song about the love for sea and the importance of oceans to the human life. Indonesian children performed a dance item reflecting the beauty of Toraja, a mountainous region in Indonesia. The children of Yueziyuan from China impressed the people at the gala with their acrobatic performance. The representatives of Vietnamese children introduced the typical cultural features of the northern, central and southern regions of Vietnam to the people at the gala with three music items.

Many children of Nha Trang also took part in the gala performance. “This is the first time I has participated in such a large-scale program for children. The international children performed many special items,” said Nguyen Thuy Duyen (Vinh Nguyen Ward, Nha Trang). Lee Ji Woo from the Republic of Korea said that he was really impressed by the scale of the gala and that he learned many things about the cultures of other countries, especially Vietnam.

According to journalist Dang Diem Quynh, Head of the Organization Committee of the third International Children’s Festival VTV 2018, the festival has been organized with a larger scale and attracted a larger number of participants over three times of organization. The festival is planned to take place every year. It is an occasion for the children from many countries to exchange with each other and also an opportunity for Vietnam to introduce its beauty of nature and culture to the people over the world.
