Nha Trang has remained the organization of public cultural activities at grass-root level for many years. This has partly enriched the cultural life of many people in the city.
Nha Trang organizes many public cultural festivals and contests every year. Last August, the city organized quite many cultural programs, such as folk music festival, public art festival, festival for roving cultural propaganda teams, and cultural exchanges between the organizations of Khanh Hoa and other localities. Le Thi Nam, member of Vinh Luong Commune’s art team said that she was happy to take part in the cultural festivals. These activities helped her to have pleasant time and release stress.
“The public cultural activities held at grass-root level not only aim to maintain the cultural movement in the localities and enrich the spiritual life of the locals but also have the target of raising the awareness of the community about some social matters. We often encourage the localities to incorporate new elements and matters of daily life into their repertoires,” said Phan Ngoc Truc, Deputy Director of Nha Trang Cultural and Sports Center.

The localities often preparingand investing well for the performances are Vinh Nguyen Ward, Phuoc Hoa Ward, Vinh Phuoc Ward, Phuoc Dong Commune, and Vinh Commune. Reportedly, these localities hold regular festivals and cultural exchanges between the hamlets to strengthen the relationship between localities as well as to look for new members for the local art teams.
Spreading the grass-root cultural activities has contributed effectively to the results of the cultural movement in Nha Trang and the whole province. This year, taking part in the provincial festival for ethnic communities for the first time, Nha Trang prepared the repertoires and exhibition bearing the cultural characteristics relating to sea and islands. Five out of six items of Nha Trang public art team were given prizes at the city’s public art festival 2018, helping Nha Trang to place first in team’s event. These results are the encouragement for the people working in the cultural sector to keep working hard to promote the local cultural movement.
