The culture and tourism of Vietnam were reflected through the exhibits displayed at an exhibition on Vietnam’s heritages of sea-island culture and tourism held at Khanh Hoa Conference Center (No. 46 Tran Phu Street, Nha Trang) from June 14 to 18.
A lot of domestic and foreign visitors visited the exhibition to contemplating the exhibits and learn about the cultural and tourism features of Vietnam. The exhibition was divided into three sections, providing the viewers information about history, culture, landscape, and typical products, etc. of each region in Vietnam.
The general section displays nearly precious photos of Vietnam’s sea and islands, ancient maps, royal documents of Nguyen dynasty about the Spratly and Paracel Islands indicating the sovereignty of Vietnam over sea and islands. The propaganda paintings, collections of fishing equipment, manufacturing tools, costumes of people living in the coastal regions, and documentary films played at the exhibition partly helped the public to know more about the life of Vietnamese fishermen.
The section for the exhibits of the provinces and cities over the country introduce the sea-island culture and typical products of each region to the visitors, such as Can Gio sea (Ho Chi Minh City), sea products of Ha Long sea (Quang Ninh Province), tourism potentials of Kien Giang Province and Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa. Maria Zakharova, a Russian tourist, said that through the exhibits, she learned that Vietnam’s culture was diverse and unique and that Vietnam’s sea tourist attractions were among the most beautiful ones in the world.
Apart from documents and photo, the organizers held music performances everyday to enliven the exhibition. The locals and tourists in Nha Trang could enjoy a special art program held at the 2-4 Square, Nha Trang in June 15-17, which featured numerous traditional culture and cultural heritages of many localities in Vietnam. The art groups across the country performed folk songs, line dance, “hầu đồng” (performance reflecting beliefs of Vietnamese people in the Mother Goddesses of Three Realms), and other typical cultural heritages of each locality.
The exhibition was one of the activities to welcome the Visit Vietnam Year 2019 and honor the values of the national tangible and intangible cultural heritages, and local typical tourism products. The exhibition attracted a large number of visitors. It partly helped to introduce and popularize the strength and potentials of sea-island tourism of Vietnam to people in and outside the country.
