Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment, Khanh Hoa Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment and Dien Khanh District have lately held a ceremony to recognize two trees in Khanh Hoa Province as heritage trees.

The two new heritage trees are diospyros decandra in Thanh Nam Hamlet, Dien Toan Commune, Dien Khanh District and cycas pectinata in My Gia Urban Area, Vinh Thai Commune, Nha Trang City. These trees are hundreds of years old; have nice shapes; and have been well protected by the local people.

Before diospyros decandra and cycas pectinata, Khanh Hoa had had 14 heritage trees, including four trees in the Spratly Islands (two calophyllum inophyllum, one barringtonia asiatica, one heliotropium foertherianum), six trees in Dien Khanh District (one dipterocarpus alatus, one strychnos nux-vomica, four pterocarpus macrocarpus), one tree in Nha Trang (diospyros mun), and one tree in Van Ninh District (hopea odorata).
