Khanh Hoa Province in 2019 organized several public art activities, providing a relatively wide choice of entertainment for the locals and tourists in the province.
The amateur artists and actors of Khanh Hoa Province’s Culture-Cinema Center have been focusing on preparing and practicing for Lunar New Year 2020 performances. As scheduled, the center will hold many colorful activities bearing the joyful features of the spring, for example bài chòi shows, street art shows, tradition art performances, and so on.
Last year, some of the public art performances of Khanh Hoa were highly appreciated and won prizes at the national amateur dance contest organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Ninh Thuan Province. Specifically, the art group of Khanh Hoa won one gold medal for whole group, one gold medal and two silver medals for individual performances. The center cooperated with the Department of Basic Culture (under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) to hold art shows of the intangible cultural heritages of human and exhibitions on the country’s sea and islands, environment and heritages.
Additionally, the Culture-Cinema Center of Khanh Hoa arranged many music shows on the political and festive occasions of the province, such as Vietnamese ethnic groups’ cultural day, festival for cultural villages, music festival for soldiers and workers, organ-piano festival, revolutionary song festival, street art shows, and bài chòi shows. These activities were interested by many people in the province, both locals and tourists.
In response to the Visit Vietnam Year (national tourism year) 2019, the public art groups of the center took part in the cultural activities such as street art shows and Whale worshipping rituals. The amateur artists and actors of the center have tried to overcome the existing difficulties, which have made impacts on the quality of the center’s public art activities and limited the expansion and development of the center, in order to bring quality performances to the audience.
Le Van Hoa, Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Culture and Sports, highly appreciated the efforts of the provincial Culture-Cinema Center in 2019. The art groups of the center fulfilled their tasks, holding numerous cultural and music shows. Especially, the center supported and cooperated well with the units of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in organizing activities for the national tourism year. The center needs to maintain their good results and promote the development; establish new art groups; and expand their activities, Hoa states.
The public art movement of Khanh Hoa last year created a remarkable hallmark, contributing to the success of the Visit Vietnam Year 2019, of which Khanh Hoa was the host. The encouraging results of the public art groups in 2019 partly reflected the efforts of the province’s amateur artists in approaching the level of the professional artists.
