Over the past month, banners and boards with information about the symptoms of Covid-19, measures to prevent and control Covid-19 epidemic have been displayed on many main streets in Nha Trang City. Information and updated news about the situation of the epidemic and preventive measures have also been disseminated widely to the public through propaganda cars running along streets and loudspeakers over the city. Le Thi Ha living in Phuong Sai Street, Nha Trang said the visual and direct information about the epidemic informed continuously had helped her to know the ways to keep safe amid Covid-19 outbreak. She often wears mask in crowded places and washes her hands with soap or sanitizers.
Nha Trang City Culture-Information Center formed four mission groups to monitor the implementation of Covid-19 prevention and control measures in the communes and wards in the city. The center and local people’s committees have taken numerous preparedness and response actions to tackle the Covid-19 outbreak, including 390 banners, 124 propaganda sessions by cars, 210 broadcasts on TV, 98,225 handbooks and 97,715 leaflets on the epidemic issued by the province’s health sector delivered to 111,000 households. Some localities have requested the locals to make a pledge to strictly comply with the official recommendations for infection prevention.
At present, Nha Trang still boost the dissemination of Covid-19 prevention and control measures. At the same time, the city’s People’s Committee has directed the communes and wards to draw experience and pay close attention to providing epidemic information to households. Besides Nha Trang, other localities in Khanh Hoa have focused on popularizing information about the epidemic through different approaches. The provincial Department of Information and Communications issued a document requesting cooperation from the agencies, units, localities and press agencies over the province in disseminating information to cope with epidemic.
Pham Duy Loc, director of Khanh Hoa provincial Department of Information and Communications, demanded that the functional agencies and units have to provide the public accurate and official information and timely response to and combat false and unverified information about Covid-19 epidemic. This is also an approach to bolster the quality of Covid-19 propaganda.
Reportedly, Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Culture and Sports released a cooperation document on disseminating Covid-19 information on outdoor electronic signs at 2-4 Square (Nha Trang) and on Nguyen Tat Thanh Street opposite the memorial site for Gac Ma soldiers.
