Following the successful organization in Phu Quoc Island (Kien Giang Province), the traditional art show about Vietnamese Tet, copyrighted by GTO Media Corporation, was organized in Nha Trang City on the occasion of Tet 2020. Traditional cultural features in harmony combination with modern features left a good impression on the audience.
GTO Media Corporation and Khanh Hoa Provincial Monument Preservation Center jointly organized the 2020 traditional art show about Vietnamese Tet at 2-4 Square (Nha Trang) on January 28. In around 90 minutes of the show, the artists and actors of Hon Que Huong traditional music band, Legend Theatre’s dance group, and VIP dance group, etc. appealed to the audience with many unique Vietnamese music and art performances. A lot of Vietnam’s traditional musical instruments, such as “đàn bầu” (monochord), “đàn tranh” (16-chord zither), and “sáo trúc” (bamboo flute), and traditional folk songs were performed at the show. “Your traditional music tunes sound very fascinating and create a sense of pleasure and excitement,” said Oleg Rylkov, a tourist from Russia.
One of the highlights of the 2020 traditional art show about Vietnamese Tet in Nha Trang was the short drama about Mai An Tiem, the adopted son of a Hung King. The drama namely Red in – green out told the story about the Vietnamese legend of watermelon. Aside from the content, the short drama had Vietnamese royal music and folk songs combined with modern dances and beatboxing, leading the audience from the scene of royal court, to wedding ceremony of prince Mai An Tiem, Hung King’s wrath, to difficulties and efforts of Mai An Tiem and his wife to earn a living on an uninhabited island.
The showmanship of the artists, actors, dancers and musicians contributed to the appeal of the 2020 traditional art show about Vietnamese Tet. The show featured numerous Hue royal songs and music. Well-prepared modern dances and line dances were also the attractive features of the show. In addition, the LED screen helped to convey the contents of the drama and art performances to the audience.
The final part of the art show featured the songs about spring, performed by singers of Nha Trang City and Hon Que Huong traditional music band from Ho Chi Minh City. As said by Ho Hoang Oanh, director of GTO Media Corporation, the company will try to hold more art shows bearing traditional cultures in the future to meet the need for entertainment of Vietnamese people and tourists.
For years, Hai Dang Song and Dance Troupe, Khanh Hoa provincial Traditional Art Theatre and provincial Culture-Cinema Center have been responsible for organizing cultural and art activities celebrating New Year and the Communist Party in Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa. The 2020 art show about Vietnam’s Tet opened up a new direction in calling for contribution and investment from the public to organize these activities in the province.
