At this time of previous years, Hai Dang Song and Dance Troupe, provincial Traditional Art Theatre, provincial Center of Culture and Cinema, provincial Monument Preservation Center, etc. were busy preparing for art shows and activities to serve locals and tourists on the occasions of Khanh Hoa Province’s Libration Day (April 2), Southern Liberation and National Reunification Day (April 30), Hung Kings’s Death Anniversary (lunar March 10), Ponagar Temple Festival (March 20-23), provincial Cultural Day for Vietnamese Ethnic Groups (April 19), and so on.
During this time of the COVID- 19 outbreak, the cultural units in Khanh Hoa have halted their shows and activities and re-arranged their plans and works in response to the directives from the Government and province on curbing the spread of the coronavirus. Units’ leaders assigned their staff tasks and works suitable to the situations of the pandemic. The units also encouraged their staff to raise individual responsibility and keep practicing skills to be prepared when the situation returns to normal.

Implementing the epidemic prevention and control requirements and measures, Hai Dang Song and Dance Troupe has asked their staff to work at home. Besides, they have still built up new programs and maintained staff members’ professional practices. Dancers have been assigned to practice at home so that the dancers can develop their skills and maintain body flexibility as well as can catch up quickly on work when the troupe resumes work. The staff of provincial Center of Culture and Cinema has also changed their way of practicing to comply with the pandemic preventive and control measures. The professional practice at Khanh Hoa Provincial Traditional Art Theatre has been made in compliance with regulations and health recommendation relating to COVID-19 disease. The theatre’s technical and backstage teams have focused on repairing costumes and theatrical props.
Since over one month ago, Khanh Hoa Provincial Monument Center carried out rearrangement of works for its staff and labor. Accordingly, securities, gardeners, and parking lot keepers were asked to embellish and landscape Ponagar Temple, Hon Chong tourist site, and Dien Khanh Ancient Citadel. Ticket selling team and tour guides were assigned to review the knowledge about the province’s tourist attractions and improve presentation skills and tour guide skills. Cham dance group at Ponagar Temple is temporarily halting their activities. The group of musicians at Hon Chong tourist site has still maintained daily practice in different ways. “We consider this period as time to upgrade facilities and improve staff’s skills. Despite shutting down facilities, we have maintained our internal activities while strictly implementing the infection prevention and control measures as recommended by the health sector,” said Tran Dinh Dung, Director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Monument Preservation Center.
