Hai Dang Song and Dance Troupe has just held a music show at their head office at 128 Hoang Van Thu Street (Nha Trang City) to introduce their 11 newly-staged pieces of repertoire, which were composed and staged for the most part in a contemporary folk-style.

The new of repertoire Hai Dang Song and Dance Troupe were produced and arranged well in terms of artistic ideas, sound, lights, performance clothes, and props. The repertoire showed the artistic features of intangible cultural heritage Bai Choi with game leader called Hieu and unique cards; the ancient and sacred beauty of Ponagar Temple by Cai River; the mysterious atmosphere of the forest and traditional costumes of the people in mountainous areas in the highland region, etc. Specially, for the first time, the troupe created a performance about the feast and commemoration festival for Hoang Sa soldiers. The artists of the troupe staged the performance with some verses of folk music of the south central region.

At the music show, Hai Dang Song and Dance Troupe also introduced their new solos, such as a song about Khanh Hoa Province composed by songwriter Truong Lam, sang by female singer Thanh Vy. The 16-chord-zither solo composed by meritorious artist Huynh Tu was skillfully performed by artist Phuong Linh. In addition to folk music performances, the troupe also included some compositions bearing the colors of lyrical and modern music into their new repertoire.

The head office of Hai Dang Song and Dance Troupe has recently been refurbished and upgraded. It was equipped with new facilities, making the performance space more spacious and modern. This investment helps the troupe to facilitate and improve the quality of their music and art shows. Reportedly, this year, the troupe produces separate repertoire instead of a whole art show like the previous years. They will combine the new repertoire with the old ones to arrange art shows suitable to the themes of specific events.
Hai Dang Song and Dance Troupe’s new repertoire of folk music has been highly appreciated by the Art Council of the provincial Department of Culture and Sports. The repertoire was created and arranged well and is in line with the current trend in music of the public, according to meritorious artist Hoang Minh Tam. However, there are still some parts needed to be changed and arranged to have better quality, as said by song writer Hinh Phuoc Lien.
The recent investment in facilities and effort of Hai Dang Song and Dance Troupe proved to be effective through the new repertoire and performances. Creating quality and trendy repertoire will help the troupe to perform well the assigned political tasks and increase their income.
