The entry of Le Duc Bao, a teacher of Bui Thi Xuan Junior High School (Nha Trang City) was like a portrait of the people and culture of Khanh Son District. In his work, the author depicted the cultural characteristics, beauty of simplicity of Raglai people, and the potential for economic growth of this remote area. More than a contest, Duc Bao considered it as an opportunity for those who love Khanh Hoa to express and share their emotions and experiences relating to this land as well as to suggest proposals and solutions to improve its tourism environment.
The writing contest took placed from August 1 to September 30 and was widely introduced to the public by the mass media. After two months, the contest received 522 entries, 508 from the contestants in Khanh Hoa Province and nine from other provinces. The contestants were mainly teachers, pupils, and students with the total number of entries accounting for more than 74% of the tally of entries. The others were office staff, journalists, and soldiers, etc.
The contestants devoted their time to collect material and do some researches for their writings. Most of the entries followed the concept of the contest, reflecting the features of the culture, tourist and cuisine of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa; proposed solutions and ideas towards a sustainable tourism environment to build Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa as a safe, friendly and civilized destination.
As reviewed by Pham Duy Loc, director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Information and Communications, the contest was successful beyond expectation with a large number of entries and a wide range of contestants. However, the complicated development of COVID-19 pandemic during the launch time of the contest partly affected the participation of people from other provinces.
At the end of the contest, the organization committee gave one first prize, two second prizes, three third prizes, and ten consolation prizes to the contestants with excellent works. Le Duc Bao with his writing about Khanh Son won the first prize.
